SKUDAI, June 7th – A team of esteemed delegates from University Teknologi MARA undertook a benchmarking visit to enhance the quality of their Civil Engineering Postgraduate Programme (Coursework). The Faculty of Civil Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), was the chosen institution for comparison.
The members of the delegation from UiTM, headed by Prof. Ts. Dr. Che Khairil Izam Che Ibrahim, constituted an assembly of some of the most renowned academic professionals in their field. During the event, the following members of UiTM were present: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sheila Belayutham (Head of Postgraduate Studies), Ts. Dr. Mohd. Hafiz Mohd. Noh (Coordinator of Postgraduate Programmes – Coursework and Mix-mode), Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Norashikin Ahmad Kamal (Coordinator of Division – WRES), Ts. Dr. Mohd Raizamzamani Bin Md Zain (Coordinator of Division – StrucM), Ts. Dr. Mohd. Amizan Mohamed @ Ariffin (Coordinator of Division – CBPM), Dr. Noor Azreena Kamaluddin (Coordinator of Division – GeoTrEn), Ts. Dr. Nurul Elma Kordi (Postgraduate Programme Leader – Civil Engineering), and Dr. Nurul Rabitah Daud (Member of the Postgraduate Committee).

In the academic world, collaboration and knowledge sharing among institutions are essential for continuous improvement and advancement. Both institutions actively participated and discussed the program, sharing their expertise and perspectives while recognising each other’s strengths. The event was not only an opportunity to gain new insights but also a chance for participants to establish new relationships and potential partnerships for future research endeavours. The visit served as a benchmark for both institutions, giving them insights into industry trends and giving Universiti Teknologi MARA an added advantage in the Malaysian academic community. This event reflects the commitment of Universiti Teknologi MARA to academic excellence and continuous improvement through cooperation and knowledge sharing.
With great pleasure, we express our heartfelt gratitude towards the respected Faculty of Civil Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia led by the distinguished Assoc. Prof. Dr. Suhaimi Abu Bakar – Deputy Dean (Academic and Student Affairs). We sincerely appreciate the entire faculty for the warm hospitality extended to us, which contributed immensely to making our visit memorable. Our minds were enriched due to the ample opportunities for sharing and interactive learning sessions, which profoundly impacted our understanding of state-of-the-art research and development practices within the field. We cannot thank the Faculty of Civil Engineering UTM enough for welcoming us openly and sharing their expertise. It was indeed an honour to spend time in the company of such a knowledgeable and accomplished group of individuals. This benchmarking visit served as an avenue for lifelong learning and further built the reputation of Universiti Teknologi MARA as a leading institution in Malaysia.
