KUALA SELANGOR, November 20th – The College of Engineering Postgraduate Studies organized a workshop titled ‘Preparing Competitive Research Proposal Series 2/2023’ from 17th – 19th November 2023 at De Palma Resort in Kuala Selangor. The workshop aimed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of research proposal writing to enhance their research skills and enable them to write a competitive research proposal.
The workshop included an Introduction to the Research Proposal Template, an Intensive Proposal Writing session, and lectures delivered by five expert speakers. The Introduction to Research Proposal Template session aimed to provide students with a thorough understanding of the research proposal template, including the standard structure, format, and components. Students learned how to develop a research proposal that meets the requirements of the academic institutions.
Either write something worth reading or do something worth writing.
The Intensive Proposal Writing session focused on the development of a research proposal. During this session, students were taught how to develop a research question, objectives, methodology, and expected outcomes. The workshop also included lectures by five expert speakers who shared their knowledge and experience on various topics related to research proposal writing.
The first speaker, Dr. Nazirah Mohd Apandi, delivered a lecture on Systematic Literature Review. The second speaker, Ir. Dr. Luqmanulhakim Baharudin, discussed Technical Literature Review. The third speaker, Dr. Warid Wazien Ahmad Zailani, gave a lecture on Converting Research Proposal to Grant Proposal. The fourth speaker, Dr. Mazlina Zaira Mohammad, delivered a lecture on Research Methodology (Qualitative), while the fifth speaker, Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Firdaus Malek, discussed Research Methodology (Quantitative).
The workshop was a great success, providing the perfect opportunity for students to elevate their research skills and gain invaluable knowledge from renowned experts in the field. The ultimate goal was to equip all students with the essential skills and resources to write a compelling research proposal that would surpass the expectations of academic institutions. With proper guidance and expertise, we are confident that the students will have a competitive edge in their future research endeavours and will excel in their respective fields.
