MASTER OF SCIENCE IN HIGHWAY ENGINEERING
Synopsis
To nurture capable specialists in highway engineering who uphold the sustainable development philosophy of the nation through creative and innovative processes of teaching and learning, research-based and professional ethics to support future needs of the national and global agenda. The program consists of core and elective courses, including Research Methodology, Sustainability Management, Risk Management, Highway Geometric Design, Traffic Management and Highway Capacity, Pavement Analysis and Design, Asphalt Mix Design, Road Safety Engineering, Urban Traffic Management, Public Transportation, Bridge Engineering, Ground Stabilization, Pavement Rehabilitation Management System and Research Project.
- Explain and analyse advanced knowledge in management and multidisciplinary engineering areas (1)
- Assess numerical data related to engineering practises by integrating critical thinking and computational skills (2)
- Perform practical skill s using appropriate digital tools and techniques in solving relevant current engineering problems (3)
- Adapt effective communication and interpersonal skills in the engineering community and with society at large (4)
- Integrate personal skills for lifelong learning through continuous academic or professional development within a global context (6)
- Organise entrepreneurial activities or project in multidisciplinary fields (7)
- Accommodate effectively as an individual, member or leader in diverse teams in the context of unpredictable situations (5)
- Uphold professional ethics, responsibilities and norms of engineering technology practices (8)
Entry Requirement
- Bachelor of Science (Hons.) from UiTM in a related and appropriate area of specialisation with a minimum CGPA of 2.75; OR
- Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from other recognised universities approved by UiTM with a minimum CGPA of 2.75
